Family retreat at Gaia house
Tuesday 26 August – Friday 29 August (3 nights)
With Gavin Milne and Gail Aylward
The Family Retreat welcomes adults and children of all ages for Dharma teachings, meditation, discussion groups, fun and connection.
The retreat is a rich opportunity to explore meditation practice both on and off the cushion whilst offering precious space for parents to relax, resource and turn inwards for a time. Meanwhile the children get to absorb the Gaia House spirit, whilst nurturing wholesome seeds of community, connection and play. Childcare is offered for children aged 3 and over (a group for the youngest children, a middle group and a teens group).
This year, we will frame the retreat in the practice of heartful presence and the Brahma Viharas – Metta (‘Loving Kindness’), Compassion, Sympathetic Joy and Equanimity – qualities that the Buddha invited us to connect with and bring forth. With these as the foundation, we can explore the possibility of more of our life feeling part of a path of wisdom, compassion and awakening, as well as relating to the role of ‘parent’ in creative and transformative ways.
